The image shows a watercolour painting depicting two fish lying on a plane. The work is made in a realistic impressionistic style, with a characteristic softness of forms, a free manner of writing and an emphasis on the atmosphere, not on detailed drawing. The colour palette is muted, natural: gray-green, ochre, brown and blue shades prevail. The bodies of the fish are painted with layers of translucent watercolour, which allows you to convey the effect of wet scales and the play of light on their surface. The work is characterised by a solid tonal range and good transfer of material: the viewer feels that there are real tish in tront of him, perhaps treshly caught. This is emphasised by a light shadow under the fish bodies. The overall impression of the picture is tranquillity and contemplation. It conveys a moment of silence and ordineness, perhaps referring to the still life tradition with a bias towards etude painting. The artist clearly masters the watercolour technique: the strokes are confident, the colour ratios are accurate, there is a feeling of airiness and light.
