All the Rembrandts, Together at Last

All the Rembrandts, Together at Last

To mark 350 years since his death, Amsterdam's Rijksmuseum displayed its entire Rembrandt collection at once in a landmark 2019 exhibition.

In 2019, marking 350 years since Rembrandt's death, Amsterdam's Rijksmuseum did something it had never done before: it put its entire collection of the master on show at once — every painting, etching and drawing it owns.

'All the Rembrandts' offered an intimate journey through the life of the greatest of the Dutch masters: youthful self-portraits, tender domestic scenes, and the searching, soulful late works.

It was a chance to stand before the full sweep of Rembrandt's genius — his unmatched feeling for light, shadow and the human face — gathered under one roof in his own city.
