Art Basel Paris Moves Into the Restored Grand Palais

In October 2024, the Swiss art-fair giant Art Basel rebranded its Paris edition simply as 'Art Basel Paris' and staged it beneath the soaring glass roof of the Grand Palais, newly reopened after a major restoration.

The move confirmed Paris's resurgence as a magnet for the international art trade, with galleries, collectors and curators flocking to the City of Light during a packed autumn season.

Held against the backdrop of one of the most beautiful exhibition halls in the world, the fair felt like a statement of intent — the contemporary art market, very much at home in a Belle Époque palace.
