Pinault's Paris Dream: The Bourse de Commerce Opens

After a 20-year quest, billionaire François Pinault opened a museum for his contemporary art collection inside Paris's domed former grain exchange in 2021.
It took François Pinault more than twenty years to build a Paris home for his 10,000-work collection. In May 2021 the luxury billionaire finally succeeded, opening the Bourse de Commerce — Pinault Collection inside an 18th-century circular grain exchange a stone's throw from the Louvre.
The Japanese architect Tadao Ando inserted a vast smooth concrete cylinder beneath the building's historic glass dome, creating one of the most striking museum spaces in Europe.
With Pinault's contemporary holdings on one side of the Seine and the Louvre on the other, Paris suddenly had a thrilling new dialogue between the old masters and the art of right now.
