Weather, Light and Water: Olafur Eliasson at Tate Modern

Tate Modern's 2019 survey 'In Real Life' immersed visitors in Olafur Eliasson's art of fog, light, water and the natural world.
The Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson turns natural phenomena into art you walk through. Tate Modern's 2019 survey 'In Real Life' filled its galleries with fog-filled tunnels, walls of moss, cascades of light and shimmering reflections.
Famous for filling the Turbine Hall with a glowing artificial sun back in 2003, Eliasson makes work that heightens our awareness of perception, weather and our place in a fragile environment.
Playful yet urgent, his installations doubled as a quiet call to attention — inviting visitors to notice the light, water and air we usually take for granted.
