Emerging Artist Interview with Art Liard
By Lee Sharrock

In Culturalee in Conversation, Art Liard discusses her plein-air practice, her AMOVE Gallery roses, and art as 'a gentle force' — and reveals her selection for Art + Climate Week.
For its Culturalee in Conversation series, the arts platform Culturalee — founded by critic and Forbes arts contributor Lee Sharrock — gave Art Liard an extended interview, spotlighting an emerging artist "whose evocative work bridges the gap between humanity and the natural world."
Liard spoke about how spontaneous plein-air sketches — "the light on water, the movement of wind through trees, or simply the feeling of silence in a particular place" — become layered studio paintings, and about the roses she presented at the AMOVE Gallery, which for her are "symbols of beauty, time, and vulnerability."
Through my work, I often try to remind people that we are not separate from nature — we are part of it.
— Art Liard, in conversation with Culturalee
She also confirmed her next major project: a selection for an environmental exhibition at Gabriel Fine Arts as part of London's Art + Climate Week in November 2026 — "especially meaningful because environmental themes are very close to my artistic practice."
